AP Chinese Test is chosen by many students especially those from a family speaking Chinese as mother language. However, it turned out even the ABCs, American Born Chinese, do not necessarily score high in this test by nature. The design of AP Chinese Test in USA has a very different angle from just speaking the language. It focuses more on culture and writing rather than simple recoginizing the characters and reading simple articles.
There are tricks to prepare students better for the test, though. Mr. Xiao has been teaching high school Chinese courses for 10 years, and has been instructing students to prepare for the test for many years. He will give his guidance and recommendations to students and parents during this 1-hour lecture how to better prepare for the test. The topics will cover:
- What is AP Chinese and its design concept. What exactly are you going to be tested?
- The procedure and time line for the next session in 2024.
- How to prepare the writing and culture, the 2 most difficault part for the test.
- What needs to be most focused in order to score high. How to best invest your time.
